How to upload and manage downloads on VIDYAOne school website
The Downloads meu allows your institute to share important files and documents with parents and students, such as the school prospectus, forms, timetables, and more. VIDYAOne lets you manage this from the admin panel.
How to Navigate to the Downloads menu
Go to the left sidebar in the admin panel
Under Media & Resources, click on Downloads
At the top of the page, you will see two tabs: Download and Prospectus
Click on the relevant tab to manage that policy
How to Add a New Download
Click the Edit button on the top right
Click + New Downloads to add a new entry
Fill in the following fields in the Download Page Content section:
- Heading – The title for the downloadable content (e.g., "School Prospectus"). Maximum 70 characters.
- Description – A brief summary of the file or content. Maximum 800 characters.
- Upload Date – The date the file was uploaded
How to Upload a Download Image (Optional)
You can add a thumbnail image to appear alongside the download on the page.
- Click on the image area to upload an image. Maximum image size is 1MB (600 x 400 pixels)
- Fill in the following:
- Image Caption – A short title for the image
- Image Description (Alt Text) – A short description of the image. Maximum 70 characters.
- Allow Image Download – Check this if you want visitors to be able to download the image directly
How to Upload a Download File (Optional)
Enter a File Name / Caption for the file. Maximum 70 characters.
Click Upload File to upload your document
Check Allow Download to let visitors download the file
You can reorder download entries by dragging and dropping them into the desired order
Click Save to apply your changes
Important Tips
Keep file names clear and descriptive so visitors know what they are downloading
Use the Upload Date field to help visitors identify the most recent version of a document
Click Publish from the top right of the admin panel to make your changes live on the website
