Managing Active and Inactive Pages as Needed on VIDYAOne School Website

Managing Active and Inactive Pages as Needed on VIDYAOne School Website

The VIDYAOne School Website allows schools to easily control which pages are visible on the live website and which pages should remain hidden temporarily. This feature is useful because every school does not need all website pages active at the same time. Some pages may only be required during admissions, examinations, events, or specific academic sessions.
Instead of deleting pages permanently, schools can simply activate or deactivate them whenever needed. This helps keep the website clean, organized, and focused on important information for parents and students.

Open the Page Manager Section

To manage active and inactive pages, first login to the VIDYAOne School Website Admin Panel. From the Settings section, open Page Manager.

The Page Manager screen displays all website pages in different categories such as Core Pages, Academic & Administrative Pages, and Policy Pages. Every page card shows the page name along with its current status and a toggle switch for activation or deactivation.

Common pages available in this section include:

  • Home

  • About Us

  • Admission

  • School Info

  • Curriculum

  • Syllabus

  • Fee Structure

  • Privacy Policy

  • School Timing

This layout helps schools quickly understand which pages are currently active on the website.

How to Activate a Page

If you want a page to appear on the live website, click on the Edit button available at the top-right corner of the screen. Once edit mode is enabled, turn ON the toggle switch beside the required page.

After enabling the page, its status changes to Active and the page becomes visible on the website. Visitors can now access that section directly from the website menu or navigation.

Schools usually activate pages based on current requirements. For example, during the admission season, schools may activate pages like Admission, Prospectus, and Fee Structure. During the academic session, schools may keep pages like Syllabus and Curriculum active for students and parents.

How to Deactivate a Page

If a page is no longer required on the website, it can be deactivated easily. Simply open the Page Manager section, click on Edit, and turn OFF the toggle switch beside the page.

Once deactivated, the page will no longer appear on the live website. However, the content inside the page remains completely safe in the admin panel. This means schools can reactivate the page later without uploading the content again.

This feature is useful for temporary pages, outdated information, or sections that are only required for a limited period.

Activate or Deactivate Multiple Pages

The Page Manager also includes options like Activate All and Deactivate All. These options help schools manage multiple pages quickly without changing each page individually.

For example, schools can activate all pages during a complete website launch or deactivate unnecessary sections while reorganizing the website structure.

This saves time, especially when managing large school websites with multiple modules.

Manage Website Pages Based on School Needs

One of the biggest advantages of the Page Manager is flexibility. Schools can decide which pages should remain active according to their current activities and priorities.

For example, admission-related pages may remain active during the admission process, while event galleries may become more important during annual functions or celebrations. Similarly, policy pages and mandatory disclosure sections may remain active throughout the year because they contain important official information.

Keeping only relevant pages active helps visitors find information more easily and improves overall website navigation.

Difference Between Deactivating and Deleting

Many users think deactivating a page means deleting it permanently, but that is not correct.

When a page is deactivated:

  • The page is hidden from the live website

  • The content remains saved in the admin panel

  • The page can be activated again anytime

This makes page management much safer because schools do not lose their uploaded content.

Save and Publish Changes After Updating Page Status

After activating or deactivating pages, always click on the Save button first. This step stores the latest page settings inside the admin panel.

However, saving alone is not enough to make the changes visible on the live website. After saving the updates, you should also click on the Publish button available at the top of the website panel.

Once the changes are published:

  • Newly activated pages become visible on the live website

  • Deactivated pages are hidden from visitors

  • The updated website structure goes live immediately

If you forget to publish the changes, the updated page settings may not appear properly on the live website even after saving.

It is also recommended to use the Preview option after major page updates. This helps you check whether the correct pages are visible and the website navigation is working properly before visitors access the website.

Monitor Website Page Usage

The Page Manager also shows the total number of enabled pages according to the website plan.

For example: 40/40 Enabled

This means all available page slots are currently being used. If schools want to activate another page, they may first need to deactivate an unused page.

This helps schools manage website limits properly without confusion.

Best Practices for Managing Website Pages

To maintain a clean and professional school website, schools should regularly review active and inactive pages. Outdated sections should be deactivated, while important academic and admission-related pages should remain accessible to visitors.

It is also recommended to organize pages according to the current academic session and school activities. A properly managed website creates a better experience for parents, students, and website visitors.
